Girl Gang: Scottsdale Edition Recap

When we first created Imprint, we didn’t know exactly what services we were going to offer, we had ideas but it took finding out what we didn’t want to do in order to identify with what we were both passionate about and good at. One thing we always knew is that we wanted to give back, make a difference and help women feel more confident and empowered.

We felt that if we could create a space that supported girls being girls, help them learn to do some of the things they may not know how to do like applying their own makeup or curling their own hair, we could also incorporate exercises to help build self-confidence and awareness on how we are treating and talking to ourselves. We recognized our own weaknesses when it came to negative self-talk and how it impacted the way we felt about ourselves. Understanding that it is not the makeup, our hair or the outfit that makes us look and feel beautiful, it is what we are nurturing on the inside that is responsible for that. We could look like a million bucks but if we don’t see ourselves that way, it makes no difference how hard we try to improve what we look like from the outside.

Our company offers fashion styling and consultation, hair and makeup, posing and presentation, and special event services. Much of what we do can be viewed as superficial and the furthest thing from inner beauty. The question for us was, how do we make an impact and offer something unique to our brand but that is aligned with more of who we are than what we do.

We asked ourselves “What do you get when you invite a dozen girls to hang out, play with hair and makeup, girl talk, get dressed up, take lots of pictures and top it off with a girl’s night out?” You get tons of girl fun! Now, what do you get when you combine all of the above with a day full of empowerment, self-love, confidence building, support, love, self-awareness, coaching, and connection? This is when we decided to create Girl Gang.

On March 24, 2018 we held our very first Imprint Girl Gang event in Scottsdale, AZ. It was absolutely one of the most amazing days of our lives. We are still in disbelief that everything worked out the way it did. We had the pleasure of connecting with 12 outstanding ladies who poured their heart and soul into the class. Each one opening their heart to one another and allowing themselves to be vulnerable and be heard. The way that each lady embraced her strengths and beauty throughout the day was incredible and watching them evolve in such a short period of time was everything to us. When the class started, almost everyone apologized for something whether it was being late, shedding tears, or walking in with no makeup. By the end of the day, all the girls were complimenting each other and we could tell they were feeling on fire as they rocked the photo shoot and we didn’t hear any negative talk.

We concluded the event with a girl’s night out and we were so humbled to hear the feedback from our gang and hear them talk about their own dreams and goals. Serious power houses sat among us. 12 new friends and soul mates for life. We will never forget a single moment of this event and look forward to hosting more like it. We want to thank the women who came, trusted us and gave their all to the class. Without you, there is no Girl Gang.

We would like to thank our guest speaker Lindsey Schwartz, our sponsors who helped make our swag bags amazing and volunteers who helped make this event a success. Thank you Michelle Lea with Carefree Tans for providing spray tans, our photographer Mari Cleven and our videographer Marteen Cleary. The highest of gratitude to our team!!!
